MUSICAL BRAIN SCAN SERIES: MAX BABY

Good Morning Keith Tim Hill Playlist

Dear sixties souls, we're very thrilled to introduce you today a new Musical Brain Scan! For this new episode we would like to introduce Max Baby.

Max Baby lives by night, navigating between trash fiction and reality. But what he loves the most are the in-betweens, those moments on the edge of dream and truth, late at night, when the glasses are empty, the candle flames flicker and cigarette butts continue to burn as last remnants of a distant euphoria. These elusive, timeless moments obsess the artist to the point of inspiring a debut EP: OUT OF CONTROL, INTO THE WALL.

Baby is one of those perfectionist artists who master their craft through relentless effort, by doing and redoing while never giving up. This is how he learned the drums and all the other instruments that followed (guitar, bass, piano). As a synesthetic self-taught multi-instrumentalist, he practices alone, writes his first lyrics in English, and tours briefly with some friends. He locks himself in the studio, year after year, emerging at night like a modern-day dandy, as sociable as he is solitary; an ultra-connected nerd who has built his own corridor between two worlds. In Maxs orbit, chance encounters turn into creative allies. He produced Aperture (2023), the debut from American artist Hannah Jadagu on Sub Pop--a record hailed for its high-stakes indie-pop sensibility and lush, sophisticated production. Meanwhile, he's lent his touch to projects with Weyes Blood, Drugdealer, Kirin J Callinan, Clara Luciani, Madd, Goldie Boutilier, Please, and others.

With an unflinching, almost jaded clarity, Baby channels the pulse of a generation in limbo, caught between deep self-reflection and the intoxicating pull of the night.
